Open work and recently taken jobs
What it is
When a contractor sends an Open work order, every invited sub in range sees it on their Bid board and the first to accept gets it. Once it is taken it disappears from every other sub's list. In its place they see a crossed-out Recently taken tile with the W-number, the kind of job and the payout, and when it went. The tile never shows the client, the address or the job title.
When to use it
Contractors: use Open when speed matters more than who does the job. Pick the trade when you send it, so the tile and the sub's list say what kind of work it is. Subs: check Open often and turn on notifications, because good jobs go fast.
How to
- Contractor: + New work order, choose Open, pick the trade, send.
- Sub: the work order appears under Open with the payout and answer-by date. Tap Accept.
- The first accept wins. The work order is yours and says Yours on your tile; everyone else sees it crossed out under Recently taken.
Which plan
Every plan for now. Free for subcontractors, always.
When it goes wrong
"Someone else accepted it first" means another sub was quicker. A sub who sees nothing at all may not have been verified yet, or may be outside the contractor's service area or trades. Ask the contractor.
