Customer messages: on my way, running late, done for today

What it is

Message on the job (beside Call, Text, Email, Map) sends the customer a short email from your name with your contact line under it: On my way with an ETA, Running late, Done for today, or Your own words. What you see in the box is exactly what they get, and the message lands in the job's activity log.

How to

Open the job → Message → pick one, set the minutes if it asks, edit the text if you like, Send email. It needs an email on the job. Replies come to your own address.

Which plan

Every plan. Text (SMS) appears beside Email once texting is switched on for your account; until then, Text beside the name uses your phone's own messages. Save this as a template keeps a message you type; use {first} or {name} in it for the customer's name.

When it goes wrong

This job has no email - add one in Details. If the customer says nothing arrived, ask them to search for the company name; the first email from a new sender sometimes lands in Promotions.
