Full-screen chips, closest colors and side-by-side compare
What it is
Every tile in the Ultimate Color Book is the paint itself. The small arrows in its corner fill the whole phone with that color, like holding a fan-deck chip to the wall, with the name, code and LRV printed at the bottom.
When to use it
At the counter or against the wall, to show one color big; when the homeowner likes a color from one brand and the store carries another; when they are down to two or three and want them next to each other.
How to
- Full screen: tap the arrows on a tile. Tap anywhere to close.
- Closest in other brands: under the color, six chips, the nearest match in each other brand by measured color. Tap one to see it full screen in its turn; Back returns to the color you came from.
- Pick this color: adds it to your picks, the same up to three the bar and the render use.
- Compare side by side: once two or three are picked, the button shows them next to each other. Tap a color's name to see it alone; Remove drops it from the picks.
- Rows or columns: in the compare view, the button at the top switches between colors side by side and colors stacked top to bottom. The app remembers which you prefer.
Which plan
Every plan, with or without an account. Works with no signal once the app is installed.
When it goes wrong
- The closest colors say "No catalogues loaded yet." The library was not finished downloading. Open the app on WiFi for a minute.
- "That's the 3-color limit." Remove one of the picks first, in the compare view or from the bar.
