Where is this job? Status, the Board and the activity log

What it is

Every job sits on one rung of a ladder: Lead → Estimate out → Scheduled → Painting → Done → Invoiced → Paid (or Lost). It moves by itself when something happens - you send an estimate, you pick paint days, the first paint day arrives, the last one passes, you send the final invoice, it is paid - and it never moves backwards on its own. The Board (Clients & jobs → Board) is the same ladder as columns.

How to

• Move it by hand: on the job, Where is this job? - pick any step, including Lost. Your move is logged with your name; later automatic moves still go forward from there.
• The activity log on the job lists everything: estimate sent, viewed, accepted; days picked; invoice sent, paid; a payment; a message emailed; a render done; a lead filed; crew notes. Add a note for a call, a change, a reminder to yourself.
• Chips on every client row show the step at a glance.

When it goes wrong

A job stuck on Scheduled after the paint days have passed moves to Painting and Done on the service's clock (within ten minutes of the day starting, and the morning after the last day ends). If you never set paint days, move it yourself.
